A little about Hong …

Hong was born and grew up in Hanoi, Vietnam. After University, the trajectory of her life changed dramatically when she met a young American engineer.  He had traveled to Vietnam to open an office for a large international engineering firm. It was love at first sight when they met early in 1994. After many challenges, they married in March of 1997. In December of that year, they moved to Kansas to start their family. Their two adult sons are now beginning their own careers after graduating from Kansas State. 

In Vietnam, Hong had a reputation for spending her weekends decorating for friends’ and families’ weddings. In the United States, she expanded upon her interest in business studies and design by completing her Interior Design Degree. She now serves on the Advisory Board for the respected Interior Design Program at Johnson County Community College. 

Hong has been an interior designer for over 17 years. In 2016, Hong opened her own design firm, Blossom Spaces, LLC. She was honored to become an authorized cabinet dealer for two of the leading North American cabinet companies: Masterbrand Cabinets, Inc. and American Woodmark Corporation.

Hong has been honored by the Kansas City Home & Gardens Magazine when they awarded her the Gold Award for the 2012 Kitchen Remodel of the Year in the $50,000 to $70,000 category. She has also been recognized with the National Thomasville Kitchen of the Month. She is a member of ASID (American Society of Interior Designers), a committee member of NKBA Nebraska/Kansas Chapter (National Kitchen and Bath Association) and also an Ambassador of Asian American Chamber of Commerce of Kansas City. Her work has been featured multiple times in Kansas City Homes & Style Magazine and VoyageKC.  You may also have seen her work in ASID Trend Reports for KCH&S Magazine. Hong has expertise in kitchen, bath and whole house interior design. She accepts residential and commercial clientele. 

In her spare time, Hong enjoys spending time with her husband, her sons, and friends. She loves exploring Kansas City’s cultural, design show, art, and food scenes. She is a frequent traveler who is always on the lookout for new inspiration!
